It's Award Season and Stardoll is not being left behind...

Considered this a brilliant topic for The Elders to discuss, as I'm finding myself enjoying the drama, is that bad? Not sure how many of you are part of the Stardoll Facebook community and whether or not you're aware of the recent comeback of award events... I'd love to know your thoughts.

Out of, what felt like, nowhere Bianca Delevingne or Jodie55 surprised us all on the 3rd of Jan with the announcement of ‘The Stardoll Awards' that has since been revealed she's secretly worked on for the past year. With Facebook likes drastically accelerating, a hyped countdown to the launch, and ‘leaked’ correspondence with Stardoll themselves, Bianca succeeded in stirring a frenzy around her event.

With the awards night fast approaching, I can only report on 'The Stardoll Awards’ nomination evening on January 10th; a graphic based event, with attendees wearing custom made or off ‘the collection line’ designs by graphics designers. The official nominations were announced via the awards Twitter and Facebook pages whilst users ‘arrived’ at the red carpet, with their graphic posted for others to speculate upon.

Cannot deny that Bianca succeeded in creating a hyped and well ‘attended’ event with nominations that covered all bases of the Stardoll world; from Suite Designer of the Year, to best Inspired By Medoll, to Blog of the Year, to name a few. She claims the Awards are being fully executed by herself, and as a one person team, no one can say she hasn't done a good job.

However, with attention like this there is no alluding that it hasn’t caused mass controversy amongst users. Some annoyed that allegedly only ‘Elites’ were invited to attend the evening, others outraged that the nominations weren’t fairly nominated, some still confused about what the event is, where it came from, and why it’s all being taken so seriously. It's difficult to watch and from comments Bianca has made herself, one wouldn't be surprised if she decides to not do this again, and that is a real shame.

Although I have my own opinions about this event and how it has been executed, I've enjoyed the updates and find it fascinating to see how it’s inspiring others to follow suit, creating new awards with 'The Stardoll Honors' and The Haus of X 'X Awards' just announced. Our little virtual world is still alive with drama, events are still being organised to entertain us, and if anything I feel rather reminiscent of years gone by, so thought it fitting to leave you with this. A status posted by Jeannette Gabrielli (User: Pau.Cam.Arena) that I whole heartedly agree with:

"Aw it's glad to see the awards season is back. And it's also nice to see people are following the same steps we made back in time.
God bless the new generation of Stardolls."

Are you happy that an essence of the Golden Era has returned? Or do you think it should have been left in the past?
